Getting my rugby boots on for a local derby

Getting my rugby boots on for a local rugby derby today was great fun.Derby matches are usually closely fought affairs, and the match between Wisbech v March today was no different (and quite literally closely fought at times!) I have not had the chance to play much rugby this year, so had been looking forward to the match with Wisbech 2nds.
Being on the bench fortunately meant that fitness would not be an issue coming on late - although waiting in the rain beforehand is not the ideal warm up. March held the lead for much of the match with a strong pack and talented half backs, before Wisbech managing to sneak in for a couple of tries to win late in the game.
It was great to have a run out, and afterwards there was time for a few beers in the Club before dashing off for a charity buffet in aid of the Wisbech Mayor’s charity at the Rose and Crown.
Hopefully there will be time for some more rugby next year when the new season starts.
